During the period from 18 to 26 July, 2013, Mr. Chen Zhiqiang, President of NUCTECH, has visited Kenya, South Africa, Mozambique and Ethiopia for investigation and greeted the engineers working there.
From 18 to 21 July, senior vice president of Tsinghua Holding and director of NUCTECH Mr. Ma Er’en and president of NUCTECH Mr. Chen Zhiqiang went to Kenya to have visited the combined mobile equipment installed at Nairobi Customs and talked with staff of the customs regarding the use of the equipment. During the subsequent informal discussion with engineers working in Nairobi, Director Ma Er’en stated, they have conveyed NUCTECH’s corporative culture well by having stayed in the frontier until successful completion of their jobs especially when Kenya was in unrest and insecure not long ago.
From 22 to 23, July, Director Me Er’en and President Chen Zhiqiang went to South Africa for a business visit, and amid the visit both had an informal discussion with cadres and the project managers from Cape Town and the African Center and debriefed about the projects in Zambia, Namibia and Ethiopia. On 24 July, after the delegation’s arrival in Maputo, capital of Mozanbique, Mr. Chen Zhiqiang visited the sites for Vehicle J, and located at the train station and the airport and greeted the resident engineers at the Maputo Maintenance Station. On 25, July, the group visited NUCTECH’s equipment at the airport and employees at the Ethiopia maintenance station.
On behalf of NUCTECH, President Chen extended his gratitude to all employees for working at the harshest area in Africa selflessly. He stated, employee’s health status is always paramount for NUCTECH. The company would provide sufficient resources to employees in the frontier and give sufficient logistic support to employees who have to stay abroad for long. How to be optimistic and upbeat – one of the most critical qualities – to fight being far away from friends and family and resulting loneliness – one of the most challenges faced by Chinese workers resided in Africa. He delivered his hope that every employee can take initiative to fit in local communities, respect African customs and culture, and improve personal skills and quality in order to achieve win-win with clients, create wealth for both and gain valued experience for future development.
On 26, July, during the friendly talk with the business counselor of China embassy to Ethiopia, Mr. Qian Zhaogang, after expressing thanks to him for long-term support Mr. Chen said NUCTECH is ready to expand its market share in Ethiopia’s security market and help the Ethiopia Taxation Administration to use NUCTECH-supplied equipment efficiently and effectively, as well as promote centralized monitoring concept, and Counselor Qian said he would spare no effort to support NUCTECH.
