In the morning of June 9, 2013, during the routine randomized inspection of crossing-border coaches (heading for China territory), the workers of Moten Customs at the site discovered large amount of unidentified objects inside a coach for which the owner did not give any explanation by checking the scanned image and finally found massive precious rosewood lumbers weighing about 2000 kgs hidden in the sandwiches below the seats and behind the modified oil tank according to the scanned images. On July 6, 2013, one again, lots of precious rosewood lumbers weighted about 1000 kgs were seized.
Leaders of Laos Customs made affirmative remarks on NUCTECH-supplied equipment which has played critical role for its ability to see through the sandwich, a real deterrence to any vehicles for such purpose.
