In the morning of 26 Dec. 2012, a kick-off meeting was held in Beijing Tsinghua Unisplendour International Exchange Center for the Millimeter-wave Imaging Detector Research/Manufacturing and Industrialization Project – a national key scientific instrument/equipment development project led by NUCTECH, in which more than 50 people were present including leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, Director of Engineering Physics Department of Tsinghua University Mr. Chan Huaibi and NUCTECH president Mr. Chan Zhiqiang, in addition to the main members of the project team.
During the meeting, as the person in charge of the project, NUCTECH president Mr. Chen Zhiqiang, on behalf of the project leader – NUCTECH, introduced the project in general, at first, and then Mr. Chan Huaibi, the director of the Engineering Physics Department of Tsinghua University and the delegate from Shanghai Microelectronic Information Institute (both will participate in the project for cooperation), and the delegate of the China Academy of Inspection &Quarantine representing the user commissions, made a speech respectively. Finally, leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology gave clear instructions on how to operate, manage and implement the project.
The project is of great importance for NUCTECH to speed up its pace in innovation-driven development, promote its operational management in key projects, advance its training of high-level talents in technologic innovation and management, expand application of its new technologies and products and support it to achieve the strategic goals in innovative development.
